Technique applied description

The fundamental layer of inside and the outside densely covered with nashiji gold flakes. Snapper is rendered with ‘takemakie’ decorated with color lacquer and golden powder. Decorated on the outside with sea wave in ‘keuchi’ technique, which drawn by hard lacquer and sprinkled golden powder to make three-dimension. 

Design motif 

Snapper, the fish used to be served as dishes when festival as New Year or some specific celebration. I think when people are celebrating; without wine is almost not impossible. So I made the syuki (wine cup) with joyful pattern. External is drawn with sea wave for matching the snapper.
