Technique applied description

The fundamental layer of the surface is sprinkled with fine gold dust and polished to a high gloss, which is called ‘‘Kinji.’’ Talking about the Oxalis part, some of the design pattern and the inside part of the bottom were decorated with the small pieces of thick gold foil, some of them were ‘‘nashiji’’ technique. 

Design motif

The name of the work explained in Japanese and Chinese, literally means bird is biting flower. In Shōsō-in, (treasure house belonging to Tōdai-ji, Nara, Japan.), you can find the relics depicted with phoenix — the creature are created in Japanese ancient mythology.
