Design motif

This is my first opportunity to make maki-e work since I became an apprentice for six months. It’s so excited to actually learn maki-e techniques, and drawing with my own design. As an Asian, I would love to find something common between Taiwan and Japan.  

Technique applied description

First of all, transfer the design pattern onto the object; rise the part of flower where you want it to be 3-dimention-effect by the mixed substance that are charcoal powder and lacquer. After rising up the highest, according your design and sprinkling silver, alloy and golden powder. Painting lacquer after the previous layer getting dried, let it getting well dried-condition, and polishing it to smooth and glossy.
