Technique applied description

The background of natsume is painted by Syu-color (Orange-Red), and sprinkled with golden powder. The color that called ‘‘Syu’’ is really matched with some topics that represent Luck, wealth and treasure.

So I choose one of the popular motifs in Japan, which is Takawadzukushi (Treasure) as my design idea. To avoid being monotonous, I tried to use various decorated skills to make different collections of treasure to be much luxuries. It’s always the challenge to applying multiple Maki-e techniques in an object.
