Chidori
Design motif
In Taiwan, for celebrating the baby’s birth, family or the closed friends are used to preparing golden necklace, golden spoon, or golden objects of Chinese zodiac sign as the gift, wishing the baby’s future getting well.
Chidori in Japanese means prolifically gaining and winning numerously, it’s one of the popular and lucky symbols in Japan.

Technique applied description
The external surface, which exhibits naturalistic and rough texture, is finished in different hues of red and brown, using lacquer mixed with powders of red mineral and charcoal.
About internal part, making background by sprinkling golden powder and small golden sheet, painting lacquer and polishing it to a gloss. The little bird chidori are rendered in takamakie, raised lacquer using sprinkled powders of alloy and gold in two hues, drawing with the thinner line to depict detail to finish the end.
